Records consist of minutes, 1844-1849; partial attendance roll, 1916-1924; reports of cases read before the Society, 1844-1880; treasurer's reports, accounts, canceled checks, statements, and other financial documents, 1864-1916; Act of Incorporation, 1886, with signatures of members; a scrapbook of programs, 1910-1917, and one scrapbook containing correspondence, programs, membership applications, and reports, 1903-1912; a scrapbook of correspondence from Middleton Goldsmith and others concerning the Society and Goldsmith's library, Rutland, Vt. and New York, 1882-1887; and miscellaneous lists of members, reports, and correspondence, ca. 1868-1926. Also included are minutes, 1867-1892, and printed membership applications completed by applicants, 1899-1912, of the Committee on Admission and Ethics. Of note are reports, newspaper clippings and correspondence, and miscellaneous other documents, 1899, concerning the case of Dr. Mary Dixon Jones and the Women's Hospital in the City of Brooklyn. A historical sketch of the hospital, and a copy of its certificate of incorporation, are included among the records of this case.
